When your project manager at the ad agency suggests you try writing fiction, it may not hurt to listen. That’s how Nicole Young went from copywriter to novelist over the course of a decade. Throw in an old Victorian to renovate, and you’ve got the inspiration for mystery-series heroine Patricia Amble and her house-flipping habit. A small-town girl from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with a yen for city life, Nicole studied at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, where she earned a degree in Communication Arts and won awards for speechwriting and presentation. Over the years her career has varied from copywriter, bed & breakfast innkeeper, substitute teacher, medical receptionist, and novelist, but her focus and devotion has always been to her four children. In 2001 Nicole returned to her native Upper Peninsula to share the blessings of ‘God’s Country’ with her kids. Playing fiddle and singing with a local bluegrass gospel band, horseback riding, and attending school activities keep Nicole busy when she’s not working or writing. Nicole is an American Christian Fiction Writers 2004 Noble Theme Contest winner for Best Romantic Suspense and Best of Show for her Kill Me If You Can entry. The novel received a four-star rating from Romantic Times. Her latest novel, Kiss Me If You Dare, Book Three in the Patricia Amble Mystery Series, is scheduled for a February 2009 release.
